ABOUT

I  started this study initially to record  the lives of the men who died in the First World War from Whittington and The Brushes and whose names are commemorated on the War Memorial in the village.

After studying my family tree for many years I found that some family members were born and lived in Old Whittington.  I was married at Old Whittington church (St Bartholomews) many years ago and lived in Old Whittington for a time although I was born and grew up in New Whittington. My grandmother grew up on what was known as The Brushes.

My intention is to use the information I find to link people and trades and try to paint a picture of how life would have been in Old Whittington for our ancestors.

Hopefully, in time, there may be personal family recollections from people who had or have family living in Whittington.

If anyone has information they would like to contribute about men listed on the War Memorial or information on the history of Old Whittington then please contact me at oldwhittingtononeplacestudy@outlook.com.

I hope you enjoy looking at the site.
