I have just finished researching the life of Thomas Pendleton who came from Sheepbridge.  He died on 10th August 1917 aged 24.  He is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial Ypres and remembered on old Whittington and the Brushes War memorials.  His story can be read at https://oldwhittingtonops.com/pendleton-t-wm-s/
