I became fascinated with Pym Denton firstly because of the unusual christian name and secondly when I scoured the newspapers I realised that Pym Denton was quite a wealthy landowner in Whittington and owned the tannery which was situate on High Street.
Pym lived in Whittington House and after his death it was sold on to the Swanwick family.
