Old Whittington One Place Study

We remember today Abraham Fearn who Died of His Wounds on 8th May 1916.

He is buried in Newbold (St John ) Churchyard and commemorated on Old Whittington War Memorial.

 

The following men who died in WW1 during May and are remembered on Old Whittington and The Brushes War Memorial.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,

Corporal Harry Lilliman died on 14th July 1916 on the Somme Battlefields.  I have just finished researching his story and it can be found  here

I have just finished researching Fred Lillimans story.

Fred and his elder brother Harry died in July 1916 on the Somme Battlefields. I am now going to finish my research on Harry Lilliman and hope to post his story within the next few days.

On  St Georges Day we remember Seth Rich who died on this day in 1917, he was 27 years old.

Seth is commemorated on the Arras Memorial France and is remembered on Old Whittington War Memorial. Seth is also listed on the Scottish National War Memorial Roll of Honour – http://www.snwm.org/roll-search/
