Today we remember James W Shawcroft who died 100 years ago today on 8th August 1918. He was 19 years old.
He lived at 223 Church Street Old Whittington and enlisted in 1916 at 17 years of age.
He is buried in Old Whittington (St Bartholomews) Churchyard.
We also remember today John Short who was killed in action on 8th August 1916 and is commemorated on Thiepval Memorial France. He was 21 years old.
